ABOUT CAL TOTHOM
Cal Tothom is a house of about 250 m², located in La Nou de Berguedà (Northern Catalonia). An excellent place for the ones who prefer spend their holidays in comfortable distance from the main Spanish tourist areas and where you’ll love to return to after a long day discovering the many sights and activities in Catalonia.
The house, which has been completely restored in 2008, is our habitual home and comprises 4 bedrooms, a large dining room, one studio, a large kitchen and 3 toilets, a wooden floor mansard with extra mattresses in case you are more than 8 people. Besides that, there is an extra piece of land of about 500 m² where you'll find a vegetable organic garden (around 300 m²), 2 garages, a courtyard, some trees and flowers beds, as well as two large terraces. The house is totally equipped and can lodge up to two families comfortably planning to spend their holidays together. It is quite well adapted for wheelchairs (access through the garden and one equipped toilet). Besides that, we also include a car (Renault Kangoo), and a vegetable garden (organic) in full season from where you will collect your vegetables and prepare your salads.... At the house you'll also find 4 bikes, lots of board games and English films, novels and books, an inflatable boat to go to the Baells’s dam for fun and swim, Internet access, and so on.

ABOUT OUR VILLAGE
La Nou is a very small village (about 130 inhabitants), 900 meters of altitude, surrounded by red-pine, oak and evergreen trees forests with a beautiful landscape. If you go to http://www.vpike.com/?place=LA+Nou+de+Bergueda.+Spain you'll see.
The village is in the north of the province of Barcelona, in the PrePyrenees area., about 100 km from the city of Barcelona (around 75 minutes driving), very close to the "Cadi Pedraforca Natural Park" (the largest in Catalonia) and to the French border and Andorra. The nearest main town is Berga (16.000 inhabitants, about 16 Km. from La Nou) where you'll find all services.
La Nou is at the end of a 5 Km. "cul de sac" narrow road starting at the European road E-9 linking the city of Barcelona with the French border and Andorra. You don't pass through La Nou, you have to come in purpose. It makes the place extremely quiet, totally suitable for families with small children, loving peace and nature. Its altitude makes the village a very fresh place in Summertime. There is also a playground, a sport ground and a social centre for children where they can meet other boys and girls. The nearest swimming pool is in Sant Jordi de Cercs, 10 minutes driving from La Nou, but beach is too far away (2 hours driving)
ABOUT THE COUNTY
The county of "El Berguedà" has lots of interesting places to visit: One of the most important Romanesque and industrial (textile) heritage of Catalonia, a Coal Museum, The Cadi-Pedraforca Natural Park, "La Baells Dam" with a nice place near to La Nou where to row, swim and have barbecues, summer and medieval festivals in several villages nearby, etc.
Gastronomy of the area is also remarkable with many places to go and rural Catalan cuisine to taste and at very reasonable prices!
